Danny German is an owner in the family owned partnership, The Springs Events, which is a collection of wedding venues in Texas and Oklahoma. Through his more than 17 years of experience, he has scaled the business from inception of venue 1 to operations of venue 27, including roles in maintenance, HR, accounting, financing, venue GM, sales, and even caterer in the early days. He has created a culture of belonging and loyalty among leadership through what is called the TSE Touch. The Springs Events has seen record breaking sales year over year, with one exception…2020. About that – he teaches his teams NOT to forget the hard, but valuable lessons of 2020. They were too difficult to forget, and too valuable to waste. The Springs Events employs 140 employees in sales, operations, technology, facility maintenance, accounting, and marketing.
SESSION DESCRIPTION
Scaling a Wedding Venue to Multiple Properties
SESSION DESCRIPTION
Business scaling is overwhelming! The first thing to know is that you can do it. You already run a successful venue. Of all the steps required in scaling a wedding venue business, successfully starting and running the first one is the hardest of all. From here, you need to make decisions up front about your scaling model. Why? What’s the motivation behind your desire to scale? Where do you want your venues to be? What kind of venues will they be? The same? Different? Will they be brand unified or separate? And maybe most important of all, being in an emotionally driven industry means that relationships really, really, really matter. Which means WHO represents your business at each location will make or break your scaling success. In this session, Danny will detail the important matters to think about for when you’re ready to scale to multiple venue locations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the presentation, attendees should expect to learn about:
